Amelia Earhart Anniversary: What Happened After 75 Years of Disappearance
Today, July 2 marks the 75 years of disappearance of famed female aviator Amelia Earhart.
And after 75 years, the University of Hawaii research ship will set sail for a coral atoll in the republic of Kiribati - a place where researchers believe the wreckage of Earhart's aircraft may be found where - trying to help solve the mystery.
The ship will use special robotic equipment to search the waters, which can reach depths close to 5,000 feet.
Likewise, the Discovery Channel also plans to air a special on the 26-day voyage sometime in August of this year.
