Comic-Con Death of 53 Year-old Twilight Fan, How Did it Happen?

Comic-Con Death of 53 Year-old Twilight Fan, How Did it Happen?

Summit Entertainment was saddened after a 53-year-old Twilight fan who spent the last two days waiting in line for the Comic-Con panel was killed on Tuesday when she tried to cross the street to keep her place.

According to a report by the Associated Press, Gisela Gagliardi was trying to cross the street despite the red light on Tuesday morning to keep her place in the line of hundreds of Twilight fans at the Comic-Con in San Diego. The Twilight event is happening in Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center in California.

Unfortunately, she was hit by a passing Subaru Outback and tragically died in an instant.

Some witnesses said Garliardi tried to stop after she realized that the Subaru Outback was not slowing down. However, she tripped and the SUV ran into her. She was bleeding profusely.

It’s interesting to note that two years ago, a young man stabbed another with a pen while fighting for seats in the convention center’s Hall H. A few years prior, a beam collapsed in Hall H, injuring several fans including Collider.com editor-in-chief.
