GLEE Season 2 'Silly Love Songs' Recap

Valentines day is coming up and has New Directions in a lovey mood. Schue encourages them to find their idea of the perfect love song which shouldnt be hard because most of them are in love. Tina loves Mike, Artie loves Brittany, Sam loves Quinn and Puck loves..Lauren. When I first heard about this new pairing I was worried but its actually one of the funniest things to happen on Glee in a long time. Ashley Fink is just darling and she has taken over as Queen of the one liners. Maybe thats because Brittany seemed semi coherent tonight?

Puck sets off on a mission to win Lauren over and his cheap candy hearts arent going to do the trick. His idea of wooing a girl is to sing her Fat Bottomed Girls. ..Yeah. She gets offended as anyone would but all awkwardness aside..that performance was hot. Puck should be allowed an electric guitar always. Artie and Mike get together to sing P.Y.T. to their ladies. I love how Artie is just kicking ass at the song as Mike dances around him in slow mo. Kevin Mchale should always sing MJ. Preferably in a dream sequence so he can dance. Tina returns the favor by singing My Funny Valentine to Mike. Well, she tries but fails and ends up crying her eyes out as shes overcome with love.

Not everyone is enjoying the love in the air. Santana says one quip too many and the entire club calls her out on being a bitch. My favorite was Lauren who..actually calls her a bitch. Santana then decides to do what she does best. Be a bitch and get revenge. Finn is off manning a kissing booth to get Quinn to kiss him and sparks fly. Meh. Im not a fan of them because sad Rachel is depressing. Even while shes singing Firework down the hall. While Mercedes and Rachel attempt to enjoy the single life, Finn enjoys getting Quinn to cheat on Sam. Santana catches them and proceeds to give them both Mono so they look guilty. Well played. Lauren isnt having any of Santanas crap though. They get into the best cat fight Ive ever seen in this show. I could literally watch Santana sliding down the hallway a hundred times.

Now Blaine may be the fiercest thing to appear on this show in quite some time but hes not so good in the romance department. Turns out Mr. Beautiful is in love and asks Kurt for advice at how best to go about it. Poor Kurt obviously thinks Blaine is talking about him but hes actually talking about some guy with bad hair at The Gap. Blaine gets the help of his fellow Warblers and a fantastic pair of pink sunglasses and serenades the guy in the middle of the store with When I Get You Alone. Amazing. I dont know how anyone could not fall in love immediately but the guy in question isnt interested. Poor Blaine :( I dont like seeing him sad and mopey. Kurt confronts him about whether or not theyre just friends (awwwkward). Blaine is honest with him and they agree to stay besties..for now.

Blaine, Kurt, and the rest of The Warblers perform at Breadsticks for all the happy and not so happy couples in attendance with a special shoutout to the singles in the house. They perform Silly Love Songs and its such a perfect song choice for them. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

This episode was amazing and once again had me laughing out loud. This half of the season has so far been fantastic and has me very impressed. Glee is back on track :)
