TV5 Introduces Firebrand Journalism in NEWS5

TV5, the Kapatid network, introduces the biggest component of its programming expansion as it launches News5, the network�s News and Public Affairs programming block composed of nine programs aimed at bringing news reporting to a whole new level with its mark of militancy for change and action starting this month.

Headed by veteran broadcast journalist Luchi Cruz-Valdes, News5 is focused to be at the forefront of news delivery, as well as in practicing "firebrand journalism" marked by its aggressive style, zeal, and depth of investigative news reporting. News5 promises to initiate problem-solving actions on the issues and matters at hand�keeping true to its slogan "Higit sa Balita, Aksyon!"

Led by public affairs programs "Tutok Tulfo" with host Erwin Tulfo and "Under Special Investigation (USI)" anchored by Paolo Bediones which premiered last March, News 5 goes full-blast next week as five more programs air every evening starting with regular news program "Aksyon" anchored by Paolo Bediones and Cheryl Cosim, followed by weekly news and public affairs programs "Totoo TV" with Ariel and Maverick, "Timbangan" moderated by Winnie Monsod, "Dokumentado" with Luchi Cruz-Valdes, "Ako Mismo" hosted by Chris Tiu, and "Lupet!" hosted by Lourd De Veyra. Aksyon Weekend, which airs on Saturday and Sunday, will be anchored by Cheri Mercado and Jove Francisco. It will also have its daily morning program, Sapul which will be hosted by Lourde de Veyra, Martin Andanar, Erwin Tulfo and Shawn Yao.

Aksyon starts airing on Monday at 9:00PM, followed by weekly programs airing at 9:30PM � Totoo TV every Monday, Timbangan every Tuesday, Dokumentado on Wednesdays, Ako Mismo on Thursdays, and Lupet! every Friday, starting April 5 on TV5. Aksyon Weekend airs Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 PM. USI hosted by Paolo Bediones airs every Sunday at 8:30PM.
