2010 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Maria Venus Raj Dethroned

In less than one month after nyang makoronahan bilang Bb.

"We found inconsistencies in their statements. Both Venus and her mother said she was born in Doha, Qatar, while yung na-submit nilang legal documents say she was born in the Philippines," pahayag ni Ms. Marcial.

Pilipinas Charities, Inc. decided, with a heavy heart, to let Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj go, after the organization discovered inconsistencies contained in her birth records, in contrast to her personal account of her birth."

Pilipinas-Universe 1991), Tisha Silang (Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1998), at Janelle Bautista (Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1999).

Sharon Cuneta Opens Her Wack-Wack Doors in YES! Magazine April 2010 Issue

When the cameras stop rolling, Megastar Sharon Cuneta heads home to Wack-Wack, where she becomes just like any other wife and mother that tends to her family's needs. YES! magazine captures the Megastar at home this April, as Sharon opens the doors to her Wack-Wack home for the first time ever.

The Wack-Wack residence has a warm and cozy feel. The living rooms showcase souvenirs from Sharon's travels and various paintings by esteemed artists like Juan Luna and Mauro "Malang" Santos. Photos of daughters Frankie, Miel, and KC are also prominently displayed in the living room. As Sharon tells YES!, "You know, my smiles that are really from my heart of hearts, they're the ones reserved for my kids, 'cause they're the only ones that can bring them out."

Her smile gets even brighter at the mention of the latest addition to her family—her adopted three-month-old son Miguel. Sharon shares, "After my three girls, parang I was thinking how nice it would be to adopt a boy."

When the opportunity finally presented itself, Sharon just knew in her heart that Miguel was meant for her. But first, she had Frankie and Miel to worry about. "Kinausap namin, because that was one of the concerns, parang baka magselos," she says. "But you know what, oddly enough, I think it will balance out the rivalry between the two. Because there's rivalry whether they admit it or not, e, di ba? Actually that's what happened. Miguel balanced it out."

A self-confessed homebody, Sharon also talks about cooking with her kids and teaching them her specialties, as YES! features her home in more than 70 photos.

A 10th Anniversary Special, the April issue also features the red carpet photos of the star-studded YES! 10th Anniversary Party.

YES! Magazine April 2010 issue is available in newsstands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide.

TV5, The Kapatid Network - List of Shows

If the two giant networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7 are widely known as Kapuso and Kapamilya, TV5, the Novaliches-based station positioned itself under the brand ID "Kapatid."

They now join familiar TV5 faces that include Paolo Bediones, Martin Andanar, Cheri Mercado, Jove Francisco, Lourd de Veyra, and others. Some of the new "News and Information" shows are:

Ako Mismo - hosted by Chris Tiu which will tell some of the inspiring stories of modern Filipino icons.

In just a matter of months and weeks, the Kapatid Network was able to convince stars like Maricel Soriano, Paolo Bediones, Ruffa Gutierrez, JC de Vera, John Prats, Rainier Castillo, and Comedy King Dolphy to sign up with them. The new recruits will complement the station's previous batch of stars led by Vic Sotto, Joey De Leon, Lucy Torres-Gomez, and Ryan Agoncillo.

Other Kapatid roster of talents are John Estrada, Oyo Sotto, Pauleen Luna, Alex Gonzaga, Amy Perez, Vandolph, Daiana Menezes, Jeffery Quizon, Erwin Tulfo, poet and writer Lourd de Veyra, Ariel & Maverick, Tuesday Vargas, Mr. Fu, Valeen Montenegro, William Martinez, Yayo Aguila, Jon Avila, Nova Villa, Eric Quizon, IC Mendoza, Cristy Fermin, Carla Humpries, Jenny Miller, Apple Chiu, Jan Nieto, Chris Cayzer, and Edgar Allan Guzman.

TV5 has now the advantages in financial resources. The third placer network has now the capability of producing more shows and improve its content.

In the Ad Congress, Mr. Manny Pangilinan, the network's Chairman, laid out the following plans and goals for TV5:

* Use high-def production equipment, tapeless digital system, and improve their transmission through more powerful transmitters nationwide.

* Beef up their news department five times bigger than it is now, and not only come out with new shows.

* Develop their own talents.

* Put up their own film division and produce more movies than the combined output of the two leading networks now.

TV5 is now powered by MediaQuest, the investee company of PLDT's Beneficial Trust Fund that first launched mobile TV in the country with MyTV, as well as PLDT's Watchpad and Smart's Sandbox. It also owns Cignal, the first digital direct to home satellite service with high definition nationwide.

The TV5 team is now headed by President-CEO Ray Espinosa and EVP and COO Roberto V. Barreiro.

Will this new leadership beat ABS-CBN 2 and GMA-7 from the top slot they both claim or continue to settle for the third spot where TV5 is now?

I’m your average dreamer, I’m a true escapist
Always expecting a happy ending
Maybe I’ve been watching too many movies

Maybe I should grow up and start pretending
When I saw your face thou, everything was slow mo
And I started wondering why..?…

Why can’t it be?

Just a pathway full of roses
Leading to a sunset view
With the one you’ve always dreamt of greats

Why can’t it be?

It was like a movie scene, the way I felt for you
Only you didn’t fall, now it’s not like the movies at all
(…not like the movies at all..)

Should I kept my heart charged
Should have been more patient
Should I kept deny on my addiction

What was I expecting
Did I have a vision
Of a scene that only lived in fiction

Now I know that you are not gonna be my co-star?
And it starts to wonder why..

Ohhhmmmm....

Not Like The Movies - Music Video and Lyrics:

Im your average dreamer, Im a true escapist
Always expecting a happy ending
Maybe Ive been watching too many movies

Maybe I should grow up and start pretending
When I saw your face thou, everything was slow mo
And I started wondering why..?

Why cant it be?

Just a pathway full of roses

Bamboo, Parokya Ni Edgar and Kamikazee in "Rock Overload" Concert

For local rock fans and aficionados, all roads lead to West Ave in Q.C this April 16 as three of the biggest rock groups in the land showcase their stuff in a concert dubbed as Rock Overload. Bamboo, Parokya Ni Edgar and Kamikazee will come together that Friday night at Metrobar (#47 West Ave. Q.C.) for this summer's super rock affair, with each rock sensation a heavyweight in its own right.

Produced by Vivre Fort Entertainment Inc., Rock Overload delivers the music and stage charisma of three popular bands with certified hits and a combined catalogue of more than a dozen chart-topping albums. This is the first time this kind of exciting mix is being stirred for one big night of live rocking music.

Musically the most complex among the three, Bamboo is counted as last decade's flagship band in the same vein as Eraserheads led the 90s alternative movement. Its main man Bamboo Manalac was a big loss when he moved out of Rivermaya back in the 90s, but his return into the music scene in 2004 proved to be major event and resulted to the rise of one of today's more influential local acts. With hits such as Noypi, Masaya, Hallelujah, Kailan, and their competent version of the Buklod original Tatsulok, the four-piece band already earned the reputation as a supergroup, with sidemen Nathan Azarcon, Vic Mercado, and Ira Cruz all experienced musicians who have tasted fame prior to playing for Bamboo.

The enduring Parokya Ni Edgar led by the talented Chito Miranda has survived two decades of competition and ever-changing musical landscape, making them a 90s holdover that maintained its audience appeal. One of their recent albums is called Matira Matibay which they have indeed proved with a steady line-up of personnel since day one. Their hits is now a songbook for music fans, with the list including their breakthorugh single Buloy and now classics Harana, Inuman Na, Halaga, Maniwala Ka Sana, Silvertoes, Picha Pie, and Mr. Sauve.

Parokya's so-called brother band Kamikazee has captured the hearts of all ages with its signature piece Narda, no doubt one of last decade's biggest OPM hits. The hugely popular record recently gained heavy TV airplay after it was picked by the latest teleserye version of Darna starring Kapuso star Marian Rivera. Band frontman Jay Contreras is credited for being a highy entertaining stage act which has made the group extra likable among fans.

Rock Overload is presented in cooperation with Metrobar, Uno One Productions, and NU 107. Major sponsors include Odyssey Music and Video, O Music Video, Odyssey Digital Club, and Odyssey Live. Ticket price is P1,000, available at Ticketnet, Ticketworld, Metrobar, Punchline, Laffline and Odyssey Music and Video outlets. For inquires call 641-7239, 668-9535, and 775-4600 or email info@vivrefort.com. Show starts at 9 p.m.

'Showtime' Suspends Anew by MTRCB; ABS-CBN Ignores Suspension

Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ordered another suspension for ABS-CBN morning talent-search show 'Showtime'. But this time, hinde lang 20-days ang suspension kundi 1-month na. And this is still all because of the Rosanna Roces incident last January of this year (Click here to read related article).

And aside from Showtime, kasama rin sa suspension ang 'Magpasikat', ang programang pumalit temporarily sa Showtime habang suspended pa ito.

ABS-CBN issued an official statement through its Corporate Communications head Mr. Bong Osorio.

Christian Angelo Manhilot, Son of Actor Cesar Montano Commits Suicide

Showbiznest sends its deepest condolences to the Manhilot Family!
