Francis Magalona, who succumbed to leukemia on March 6 at the age of 44, has received a posthumous Presidential Medal of Merit Award from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Dangerous Drugs Board Chairman Vicente �Tito� Sotto III was the one responsible in recommending and facilitating the award to Francis due to his contribution in promoting nationalism through his music.
The award was received by Kiko's widow Pia Magalona and their kids.
