Queenierich Rehman, the First Pinay Miss World Titleholder?
Queenierich Rehman, Miss World Philippines 2012, is scheduled to fly to Ordos, Inner Mongolia in China this coming July 18 to compete against more than 100 beautiful women around the world for the 62nd Miss World crown.
Ms. Cory Quirino's CQGQ together with TV5 held an intimate presscon/send-off party for Queenierich at the function room of BSA Towers in Ortigas on Friday, July 13.
Queenierich was joined by Miss World Philippines Director Cory Quirino, and MWP 2012 Runners-up First Princess Mary Ann Ross Misa, Second Princess Vanessa Claudine Amman, Third Princess April Love Jordan and Fourth Princess Brenna Cassandra Gamboa.
Ms. Cory Quirino revealed that three weeks after winning the crown, Queenierich went through rigorous training to better equip her for the pageant including Mandarin lessons and a course in social media management. She also visited the National Children's Hospital and Philippine General Hospital Children's Ward as part of her beauty with a purpose campaign.
Her advice to Queenierich?
"Simply speak from her heart because a lot of candidates memorize canned messages, the answers and the judges don’t want that specially Miss World director Julia Morley."
“Last year when Gwendolyn was on stage, she was being judged by past Miss World winners. So their standards were very high. I think what made Gwen moved up from third runner up to first runner up and almost got the crown was the question and answer portion. So there’s only one question that Miss World asks and that is ‘Why should you be Miss World?’ All this time from now, I want you to think about that and let it sink into your heart why you should be Miss World? The candidate who answers as sincerely and as honestly and as authentic as possible, she’s the one who’s going to win the crown and I have every bit of confidence in you that the heart is there and the words will come out straight from your heart. And with that, the Miss World crown on your head.” Ms. Cory Quirino further reiterates.
Asked what she thought of Queenierich's chance of winning the elusive Ms. World crown this year?
Ms. Cory pointed out that the Miss World pageant is an olympics of beauty and with Queenierich being Philippines' representative - intelligent, talented (she will actually do beatboxing come talent night, sports buff (a women basketball MVP), and a true beauty queen with a purpose inside and out, chances are she could be the first Pinay Miss World titleholder.
