Kodak sues Apple Inc.

Kodak sues Apple Inc.

Due to the alleged interference in patent sales, photography pioneer Eastman Kodak Co. sued Apple Inc.

In a lawsuit filed on Monday, June 18, in U.S. bankruptcy court in Manhattan, Kodak said Apple, wrongly claims to own 10 patents arising from work that the companies did together in the early 1990s which include technology that helps camera owners preview photographs on LCD screens.

Kodak recently obtained clearance to sell some patents to help the Company out of bankruptcy. To be able to do this, they wanted to make sure Apple will not interfere with their plans to sell a large patent portfolio, as part of its bankruptcy restructuring.

Apple Inc. meanwhile accused Kodak of trying to sweep any patent disputes under the rug with bankruptcy as the pretext.
