Fast-rising Pinoy Singing Boy Group "VFort" to Front for Idol David Cook in July

What do Vertical Horizon, New Kids On The Block, Backstreet Boys, and David Cook have in common? In the Philippines, it’s their front act. If you’ve ever heard of the new boy band, composed of three men with voices ravishingly blending together and personalities that are as captivating, then it must be an exact guess to have no other than this name in mind – VFort.

Certainly, Kerwin Caballero, Toff Guela and Visam Arenas have been steadfastly making a splash in the music industry with such splendid opportunities to be their idols’ openers in their respective concerts here. And with another famous act, David Cook, announcing his return to Manila in July, VFort is once again blessed to find themselves in the same sentence with an international headliner.

Starting out as recording artists under Viva, VFort pushes themselves to new heights as live performers, conquering such big venues as Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, MOA Arena and on July 14, Smrt-Araneta Coliseum. VFort largely owes their steam in the breakthrough scene to their recent hit PRINSESA. An original song from their debut album “VFort: The Love Band Project,” Prinsesa has been enjoying warm reception in the airwaves since its April release. From then on, it has drawn attention to the charming voices of Kerwin, Toff and Visam, who have dubbed their carrier single “OPM’s newest harana song.”





Whether a fancy twist of fate or the power of the dream plays a role, VFort was actually formed more than a year ago with this as their first study song: “Always Be My Baby” – a love anthem back when David Cook was riding high on American Idol fame.

Both inspiring and bittersweet, Prinsesa is not far from claiming the same mass appeal Always Be My Baby possesses. Raves from the listeners of the country’s leading radio stations can tell that VFort is on the right track. Few weeks into the main event, VFort must be readying themselves with more gusto than ever. As early as receiving the good news in May, VFort has undergone performance workshops and studied songs that promise to surprise concert-going audiences.

And though the journey to stardom has just begun for these guys, we can’t wait to see that the future common denominator of Vertical Horizon, NKOTBSB and David Cook is that they will have paved the way for VFort to be one of them as the next big thing.
