Arroyo Arrest Update: Arroyo's Hospital Arrest Allows by Court Until Friday
Former president and now Pampanga Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has allowed by the Pasay City court handling the electoral sabotage case against her to stay under hospital arrest until Friday, November 25.
The decision was made by Judge Jesus Mupas following the request of Jose Flaminiano, the top defense counsel of CGMA, to allow a continued detention of her client given her frail condition. He also cited the directive of President Aquino to accord Arroyo the utmost respect as former head of state.
Flaminiano also mentioned the governments position that it would not oppose any request for Arroyos hospital arrest, which was echoed by Maria Juana Valeza, a lawyer for the Commission on Elections law department.
