Alaska earthquake with intensity 7.1-magnitude was felt in the Fox Island region of Alaska more than 1,000 miles from Anchorage at approximately 3 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2011 according to the report released by United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) immediately issued a tsunami warning for coastal areas of the state from Unimak Pass to Amchitka Pass. The agency then promptly canceled the warning.
