Terrelle Pryor Joins Oakland Raiders in NFL Supplemental Draft

Terrelle Pryor will join a Raiders team that hasn't had a winning season since 2002, when they lost to Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl.

The Oakland Raiders selected Terrelle Pryor with a third-round pick in Mondays NFL supplemental draft, just days after the league finally cleared Pryor.

Pryor generated a bit of a buzz at his pro day workout Saturday by running a 40 clocked at around 4.40 seconds. That apparently put him right in the Raiders wheelhouse - Oakland has made a habit of drafting players for their athleticism and speed, as much as for their overall game.

Per the NFLs ruling last week, Pryor will not be eligible to play or practice for the first five weeks of the regular season, matching the suspension he would have faced had he returned to Ohio State for his senior season.

The Raiders currently sport Jason Campbell, Trent Edwards and Kyle Boller on their QB depth chart. Pryor figures to take one of those roster spots - likely Bollers - as Oakland starts developing him.

There were five other players eligible for the supplemental draft, including Georgia RB Caleb King, but Pryor was the only name called. King was slated to be the Bulldogs starting running back this season after rushing for more than 1,000 yards combined over the past two years. But he was ruled academically ineligible this summer, ending his Georgia career.
