The teaser trailer for Sony's 3-D reboot of "Spider-Man" movie franchise came out sooner than expected - it has leaked online in advance of its expected official debut at Comic-Con this week.
Based on the new teaser, it's clear that the movie is targeting a darker tone than what Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire strived for with their "Spider-Man" trilogy. The combination of music, lighting and the mere sight of Andrew Garfield give this "Spider-Man" overhaul something of a "Social Network" vibe.
But those "Social Network" comparisons go straight out the window as soon as Peter gets bitten by a radioactive spider in what looks to be a laboratory belonging to Doctor Curt Connors, the Rhys Ifans-portrayed scientist well on his way towards becoming the Lizard. Moments later, there shows an expansive showcase of first-person web-slinging action that promises to take full advantage of the new movie's 3-D capabilities.
