Wedding Registry: What Tony Romo and Candice Crawford and Other Celebrity Couples Asked Their Wedding Guests

Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback and former Miss Missouri and sports reporter Candice Crawford tied the knot in Arlington Hall on Turtle Creek Boulevard last weekend (read Tony Romo - Candice Crawford wedding details HERE). And alongside with that very expensive wedding was a "ridiculous" and exhaustive wedding gift registries at Crate and Barrel and Macy's.

The newlyweds registered for over 150 items at mainstream retailer Crate and Barrel, with a second registry at Macy's.

At Crate and Barrel alone, the couple requested a silver, 3-Tier cupcake stand for $29.95, five french fry holders at $6.95 each, french fry holder liners ($1.50 each), a small ($2.95) and large ($6.95) gravy boat, and amber tealights at 50 cents a pop.

Over at Macy's, the Texas twosome asked for, among other things, a Dyson Ball DC25 Animal Vacuum ($650), a Haan Professional Garment Steamer ($215), Chef's Choice Waffle Maker that makes heart-shaped waffles (on sale for $69.99) -- and another cupcake stand, this one from the Martha Stewart Collection, for $19.99.

Past celebrity wedding registries have ranged from unnecessarily and extravagant to reasonable and practical. Here's a short list of some of Hollywood's more memorable wedding requests.

What do you get the daughter of The Donald on her wedding day? In true Trump form, Ivanka Trump included some pricey items on her 2009 wedding registry, including a $1300 Tiffany silver bowl and a $500 sterling silver picture frame. Also a Crate and Barrel fan, the now expectant mother included more "affordable" options, like an Elsa Peretti carving knife ($225), silver vegetable spoon ($290), or a glass pitcher ($29.95).

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Hank Baskett and former Hefner girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson had their guests going deep - into their pockets - with their 2009 wedding registry. The pair registered at Macy's and Bed Bath & Beyond for items like a margarita machine ($329) and an air purifier ($699.99). They also included some less expensive stuff, like a grill cleaning brush for $5.99.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt didn't get many items from their registry, possibly due to their strange choices. The pair wanted a $79.95 Kissing Salt and Pepper shaker, a $79.99 waffle maker, and a $538 Christofle Galea sterling silver serving fork. For someone who doesn't look like she eats too much (particularly waffles), that's a lot of kitchen stuff!

Recently, some celebs have taken the "high road" and declined all wedding gifts.

Hugh Hefner and fiance Crystal Harris have requested that their 300 guests donate money to charities instead of purchasing gifts. Hef said, "The point of it is, we don't' need gifts. A lot of people are in need and the notion of giving to charity instead of giving gifts to us just made sense." The 85-year-old credits his bride to be with the suggestion, and we think it's a great one!

Prince William and Kate Middleton, now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also requested that their wedding gifts be charity donations. The couple set up The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund, which supports 26 different organizations that were personally selected by the pair. This seems to be just another example of how the level-headed couple is doing things the right way!
