Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves Wedding Details
Actor Matthew McConaughey and Brazilian model Camila Alves tied the knot on Saturday, June 9, in an intimate "island beach meets Texas" themed wedding at the couple's home in Austin, Texas.
The wedding was witnessed by their 4-year-old son, Levi, and 2-year-old daughter, Vida, close friends and relatives.
Their guests that includes Woody Harrelson, Reese Witherspoon, Jim Toth, John Cougar Mellencamp, Meg Ryan among others stayed at the high-end campground on their Texas property set-up by the couple complete with air conditioned tents, gourmet goodies, and plenty of entertainment.
During the emotionally-charged wedding ceremony, Mellencamp sang a song for the bride and groom based on a bible verse. "He made it into a melody," a witness says.
After sharing a long, passionate kiss with his new bride, McConaughey thanked everyone for coming - officially kicking off the post-wedding celebration. Guests moved into a massive party tent for the reception, where they noshed on rotisserie-style Brazilian meats and danced to a live band playing American pop and Brazilian rock hits. McConaughey and Alves skipped the wedding cake - instead offering their partygoers a variety of desserts - as well as the traditional first dance.
McConaughey, 42 and Alves, 30, met in 2006 at a bar in Los Angeles and have been dating ever since.
