Dolphy Now Fighting for His Life at Makati Medical Center
"We're hoping for a miracle, our family will accept whatever ang ipagkakaloob sa kanya. It can happen anytime." Eric Quizon calmly said this afternoon during a brief press conference at the Makati Medical Center where his dad Dolphy is currently confined due to pneumonia.
Dolphy (Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr. in real life), has been in and out of the hospital for 5 years now due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), but now, he is really in serious condition and now fighting for his life in the hospital.
In his interview with TV Patrol anchor Korina Sanchez on Wednesday night, Eric said that he knows his dad still wanted to prolong his life and now fighting for it:
"My dad is really a fighter. Even if he's not responding, alam namin na lumalaban siya. Alam namin he's still hanging on. I don't know of anyone who has survived 10 pneumonias in one year," Eric stressed.
Eric also revealed that some of his dad's organs are already weak and he is being observed around the clock by the doctors.
"He's in a very critical state. His kidneys are malfunctioning. They're in bad shape they can't filter the medicine because they're a lot. There are toxins in his body.
"So, may blood transfusion tayong ginagawa sa kanya and at the same time yun na nga, yung kanyang kidney talaga is medyo mahina. Apart from his lungs. Yung kanyang lungs talaga, talagang very, very weak.
"As of now, his vitals are stable but nagpa-fluctuate kasi, e. So, hindi natin talaga alam kung bigla itong magpe-fail na lang bigla ng totally." Eric stressed.
Dolphy is now 83 years-old and will be celebrating his birthday on July 25.
