Ricky Pempengco, Charice Dad, Murdered

Ricky Pempengco, Charice Dad, Murdered

Charice's estranged dad was stabbed to death last Monday night, October 31, and left by suspect lifeless in a canal near his residence in Barangay Laram, San Pedro, Laguna on Monday night.

According to police reports, the 39-year-old construction worker-dad of Charice was having a drinking session with his friends at around 9 p.m. when the suspect, identified as Angel Capili, Jr., approached Pempengco and stabbed to death from behind using a twelve-inch ice pick then immediately left the area.

Charice, who is in Jakarta for David Foster and Friends Concert Tour immediately flew back to Manila and expressed her feelings over her dads death on Twitter.

I loved him and I will still love him. He's still my Dad after all.

Meanwhile, Pempengco's sister who had an interview with ABS-CBN this morning expressed her grievances on Charice and her mom Racquel who left his brother many years ago due to domestic violence accusations. According to her, Charice and her mom might be happy now because of her brothers death.

Masaya na siguro kayo, patay na ang kapatid ko?, she said.

Charice, on her twitter account, showed her antipathy towards her aunt's statement by saying:

Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto Release Joint Statement Denying Separation Rumor

Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto Release Statement Denying Separation Rumor

Every news has its two versions of the story. In the recent controversy surrounding their marriage, (estranged?) couple Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto decided to issue a joint statement refuting their rumored separation (read related news HERE), 1 day after the news has gone out of public.

Here is the full statement coming directly from Raymart and Claudine:

In recent days, there have been numerous negative rumors about our marriage and our relationship, all of which have caused us, our children, and our families undue stress, strain, and unnecessary tension.

"In order to dispel all these unfounded innuendos, we now publicly declare, in the simplest and clearest terms that:

"WE ARE STILL TOGETHER, we have not separated, we love each other, and we both value and cherish our marriage and relationship.

"Any issues that we may have are private, and do not detract from, nor diminish, the strength of our marriage. We ask that the public allow us to deal with our minor concerns without the glare and glee of media speculation that only hurt us and those we love.

"We are both deeply committed to our two (2) children, whom we love unconditionally. As concerned and devoted parents, we shall zealously protect their privacy, and their right to be untouched by malice and gossip. We plead with the public to respect their rights: they are innocent children unjustly harmed by the baseless gossip about us.

"We hope this JOINT STATEMENT settles and lays to rest all questions about us as a couple, and as individuals."

Carmen Winstead Death, Truth or Fiction?

Carmen Winstead Death, Truth or Fiction?

Carmen Winstead story is a chain letter about a 17 year old girl who died when she was pushed down a sewer by five girls she thought were her friends.

Carmen was 17 years old when her parents decided to move to Indiana. Her father had lost his job and the only way he could find new employment was by moving to a new state. The relocation caused a lot of problems for Carmen. She had to leave her friends behind and attend a whole new school in Indiana.

Carmen had a hard time making friends when she changed schools. It was the middle of the school year and most of the students had no interest in befriending the new girl. Initially, she spent many days alone, walking from class to class without speaking to anyone, but she eventually started hanging around with a group of five other girls. Carmen thought these girls were her friends, but it wasnt long before she discovered that they had been talking about her behind her back and spreading vile rumors.

When she confronted them, the girls turned on her and began bullying her every day, making her life a misery. They started out calling her names, but then the bullying got much worse. One day, she left her school books in the classroom at break time. When she returned, she found someone had taken a sharpie and written dirty words all over her books. Another day, she opened her bag and discovered someone had poured yoghurt all over the insides. Sometimes, she would come to school and find her locker had been vandalized. The final straw came when she put on her coat at recess and found that someone had stuffed dog poop in her pockets.

There and then, Carmen decided that she couldnt take the bullying any longer. She planned to stay behind, that evening, after school, and tell her teacher what had been happening. Unfortunately, her decision came too late to save her life.

After lunch, her teacher announced that the school was holding a fire drill. When the alarm sounded, Carmen and the other students filed out of the classroom and assembled in the yard outside. As the teachers read out the roll call, the gang of five girls decided that this was a great opportunity to embarrass Carmen in front of the whole school during the fire drill. They moved over to where Carmen was standing, near a sewer drain, and began crowding the poor girl, getting in her face and nudging her towards the open manhole.

They pushed her and she tripped over and fell head-first down the manhole. When they saw her falling, the girls started giggling and when Carmens name was called out, they shouted Shes down in the sewer!

All of the other students began laughing. But when the teachers looked down the manhole and saw Carmens body lying at the bottom in the muck and the poop, the laughter abruptly stopped. Her head was twisted around at an odd angle and her face was covered in blood. Worse still, she wasnt moving.

There was nothing any of the teachers could do for her. Carmen was dead. When the police arrived and went down into the sewer, they determined that she had broken her neck. Her face had been torn off when she hit the ladder on the way down and her neck snapped when she landed on her head on the concrete at the bottom.

The police hauled Carmens body out of the sewer and sent her to the mortuary. Everyone had to stay behind after school while the police questioned all of Carmens classmates. The five girls lied to the police, saying they had witnessed Carmen falling down the sewer. The police believed the girls and Carmen Winsteads death was ruled an accident and the case was closed. Everyone thought that was the last they would hear of Carmen Winstead, but they were wrong.

Months later, Carmens classmates began receiving strange e-mails on their MySpaces. The e-mails were titled They Pushed Her and claimed that Carmen hadnt really fallen down the sewer, she had been pushed. The e-mails also warned that the guilty people should own up and take responsibility for their crime. If they didnt there would be horrible consequences. Most people dismissed the e-mails as a hoax, but others were not so sure.

A few days later, one of the girls who pushed Carmen down the sewer was at home taking a shower, when she heard a strange cackling laugh. It seemed to be coming from the drain. The girl started to freak out and ran out of the bathroom. That night, the girl said goodnight to her mom and went to sleep.

Five hours later, her mom was awoken in the middle of the night, by a loud noise that resounded throughout the house. She ran into her daughters room, only to find it empty. There was no trace of the girl. The worried mother called the police and when they arrived, they conducted a search of the area. Eventually, they discovered the girls grisly remains.

Her corpse was lying in the sewer, covered in muck and poop. Her neck was broken and her face was missing. It had been completely torn off. One by one, all of the girls who pushed Carmen that day were found dead. They had all been killed in exactly the same way and were all found at exactly the same spot. In the sewer at the bottom of the same uncovered manhole where Carmen had met her doom.

But the killing didnt stop there. More and more of Carmens former classmates were found dead. It seemed that anyone who didnt believe that Carmen had been pushed, was eventually found down in the sewer with their necks broken and their faces torn off.

They say that Carmens ghost is still on the rampage, hunting down anyone who doesnt believe her story. According to the legend, Carmen will get you, whether its from a toilet, a shower, a sink or a drain. When you go to sleep, youll wake up in the sewer, in complete darkness, paralyzed, unable to move, hearing cackling laughter all around you. Then, as you scream in horror, Carmen will come and tear your face off.

So be careful who you bully, because you just might find yourself on the receiving end of the curse of Carmen Winstead.

Shaina Magdayao and John Lloyd Cruz Breakup Update

Shaina Magdayao and John Lloyd Cruz Breakup Update

Reports now circulate in numerous showbiz websites, blogs and social media sites that John Lloyd Cruz and (ex?) girlfriend Shaina Magdayao has already ended their relationship because of rumored serious jealousy on the part of Shaina who is, obviously, the one trying to be in control of their relationship by getting rid of those who plan to get in between her and John Lloyd before it actually happens - that includes calling and sending them text messages. Boy, you can't blame her. She's so much inlove!

Though it is not clear on who initiated the splitsville or whether it was a mutual decision, the names of Lloydie's ex-girlfriends Ruffa Gutierrez and Liz Uy are being dragged in the break-up issue.

John Lloyd somehow confirmed the news by saying, "To be honest, hindi maayos yung mga bagay-bagay ngayon." But also clarified that there is no third party inlove in the separation. "(But) ako na mismo ang nagsasabi, walang kinalaman si Ruffa (Gutierrez) o kahit sinong ex-girlfriend ko."

Another confirmation was released by PEP in their article this afternoon which reads:

Latest update: As of this posting, Shaina Magdayao has already left for the U.S. for a much needed vacation as confirmed by German Morena who is known to be close to the Magdayao's.

Moreno added that Shaina made a good decision by going abroad to think, rest and ultimately, getaway from the intrigues that have surfaced lately surrounding her supposed breakup with Cruz.

If and when she'll comeback is still unsure.

"Hindi ko alam, pero baka ilang linggo lang siya doon. Ang mahalaga kasi ngayon ay makapagpahinga si Shaina at makapag-isip-isip," Moreno stated.

Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago Now 2-Months Separated

Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago Now 2-Months Separated

The answer to the "lost P-5 million on their joint bank account" (click HERE to read related article) controversy might now be revealed!

After all the denials and going out together on public to prove that they were okay, Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago, who got married at the Tagaytay Highlands only five years ago has been separated for two months now.

According to Ricky Lo's Funfare article released today at Philstar.com, it all started last Tuesday, October 25, when Claudince arrived home from a taping, she found Raymarts several cars missing at the garage. She got very worried. Womans intuition, you know. Since she and Raymart were having trouble, Claudine suspected something. She called her lawyer and they went to the bank to withdraw P5M from her and Raymarts joint account.

The bank branch manager told them to wait while he prepared a managers check because, they were told, the amount was too big. After waiting for 30 to 40 minutes, Claudine and her lawyer asked why it was taking the branch manager to issue the check, only to be informed that the account had zero balance. Thats when Claudine broke down, which was caught by on camera by a 24 Oras news reporter.

So who could have withdrawn the money? I bet, your guess is as good as mine.

And why is Claudine crying so hard and loud? Kase naisahan sya. Like the old saying (with a modern twist) goes: "Ang angry bird galit sa kapwa angry bird".

Carey Mulligan, Dragged Into the Underworld in Drive

One of the most talented young actresses working today, Oscar Best Actress nominee Carey Mulligan (Never Let Me Go, Money Never Sleeps) stars opposite Ryan Gosling in FilmDistricts critically acclaimed thriller Drive.

Winner of the Best Director prize in this years Cannes Film Festival, Drive will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 & Trinoma) starting November 9. The film is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and adapted from James Salliss 2005 novel of the same name.

In the film, Driver (Gosling) is a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for armed heists by night. Though a loner by nature, Driver cant help falling in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene (Mulligan), a vulnerable young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband Standard (Oscar Isaac).

Mulligan had been a fan of Refns past films Bronson and Valhalla Rising and had even mentioned to her agent that she wanted to work with a director like Refn, but it was only after she expressed interest in the script that she learned who was helming Drive.

The actrees enthusiasm was matched by Refns, who immediately ordered small rewrites of Irenes backstory so he could cast Mulligan. In the novel, Irene is a Latina. Director Refn confirms, Originally I was looking for a Latina actress. I hadnt seen Careys films, but the minute she walked in the door, I knew we had our Irene. It just cemented the love story in a much more interesting way. It made it more of a Romeo & Juliet kind of love story without the politics that would in this day and age be brought into it if you had different nationalities or different religions.

Mulligan explains her interest in the part: Irenes character was a challenge because shes really the pivot point for the films secondary plot, which is literally about the love triangle between her, Driver and Irenes husband Standard but dramatically is about where theyll all end up in the most meaningful sense. And its not an easy decision for her.

Driver certainly seems like Irenes knight in shining armor, but Standard is drawn very sympathetically, as someone whos made mistakes but is genuinely trying to turn his life around. Plus shes loved him since she was 17. So to be able to play those two impulses off of one another, especially after Standard and Driver form an uneasy alliance, gave me so much to work with.

Says Refn: Since I was a teenager, Ive been a big fan of `Sixteen Candles. Ive always wanted to remake that film one way or another and, in a very unlikely way, Ive done that with `Drive. Carey has all the intelligence and charm of a young Molly Ringwald. The romantic scenes she has with Ryan make for a very delicate and beautiful contrast to the brutality in the rest of the film.
